The Casa na Espinheira begins with the primordial gesture of erecting stone-clad walls, arranged transversely and elevated above the roof level. These slabs define the rhythm of the volume and create a dynamic relationship between solids and voids, light and shadow, transparency and mass.
Between these walls, the dwelling unfolds on a single level, prioritizing visual and physical continuity between interior and exterior. Large glazed openings allow natural light to enter and extend the living spaces to the surrounding garden.
The contrast between the mineral texture of the stone and the lightness of the white planes and glazed surfaces translates into an architecture of balance and serenity—where the structure becomes the language and the material becomes form.
